Times Leader, The (Wilkes Barre, PA) - October 30, 2007 Deceased Name: ROBERT A. STAIR Robert A. Stair 73, of Aston, Pa., passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Morrisville, Pa., a son of the late Edward and Lorraine (nee Price) Stair. Mr. Stair was a 1952 graduate of Dallas Township High School, Dallas, Pa., and Penn State University. He was employed by Power Engineering Corp., Wilkes-Barre, for 30 years and Kane Warehousing Corp., Scranton, for 14 years in various sales and en gineering capacities. He served in the U.S. Army, completing Military Police training and played in the Marching Band at Fort Gordon, Ga. Mr. Stair was an active member of the Dallas United Methodist Church, where he and his wife, Jane, taught church school and worked with the youth for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert; brother Norman and his wife, Jan e E. (nee Owens), of 43 years. Jane and Bob were one in life and shall be one again in eternity. Surviving are his three children, Ellen Janis, Aston, Pa., Megan Stair-Buchmann, Folsom, Pa., and Nancy McCormick, Fallen Timber, Pa.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, the Rev. Ernest Stair, Evansville, Ind. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral, from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the D'Anjolell-Stigale Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Road, Aston. Funeral service takes place at 9:30 a.m. in the Main Chapel. Interment will be at 2 p.m . Thursday at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas, Pa. Condolences can be sent to www.danjolell.com. Stair, 63, of East 42nd Street in Dallas, died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General HospitalA lifelong resident of Dallas, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth (Mekeel) Owens. She was a graduate of Dallas Township High School and Wyoming Seminary, and attended Bloomsburg State Teachers College. She was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Dallas Junior Women's Club and Chorale. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert. Surviving are her husband, Robert A.; daughters, Ellen Janis, Aston; Nancy McCormick, Grampian; and Megan Stair, Glenolden; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Dallas United Methodist Church, 4 Parsonage St., Dallas, with the Rev. Dr. William D. Lewis officiating. Internment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park in Dallas. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to the Dallas United Methodist Church.
